What makes Kufu Drawer System different? Let's dive in...

* Advanced design and materials

NO plywood to rot or crack!  And they are NOT made from plastic milk jugs like the other guys!  Kufu Drawers are constructed from advanced composites and aluminum and they are engineered for unmatched durability and performance. They are the world's most advanced drawer system. 

*Quick-release

Don't get stuck with drawers in your rig permanantly. Pop the drawers out in seconds using the quick-release pin securely hidden behind the drawer face.  This allows you to rearrange them, carry only what you need per trip, or even switch them between multiple vehicles.  Sometimes you need your trunk or truck bed for other things!  Not every vehicle can be a full time overland rig or work truck.

*Modular

All Kufu drawers are 20.1 inches wide.  This means two drawers side-by-side fit in your SUV trunk or between your truck bed wheel wells. But it also allows you to mix and match all three available height drawers (7", 11" or 18") and the numerous available lengths, for virtually unlimited configurations.   This allows you to tailor your setup to your specific vehicle, your gear layout, and your budget.   Stack them only on one side only and mount your overland refrigerator.  Or, make a flat deck on top of your drawers.  Or keep one side short to make room for a battery system in the front of your truck bed... make the layout work for your specific needs, sky is the limit! 

*Load Rated, Crash tested

Engineered to hold up to 2000 lbs on top of the drawers.  Pile your gear on top, carry that dirt bike, use your truck!   Crash tested to Australian safety standards (*much higher than USA standards), you can drive confidently knowing your gear isn't going anywhere, offroad, or even in a crash.

So, go ahead and load up your drawers with whatever you need to carry! 

*Secure

Are you a hunter, 1st responder, or tradesman? Do you have firearms, tools, or other sensative gear you want to protect from thieves and the elementsts?  The quickly release pins are only accessible if the drawer is opened with the key.  Furthermore, the drawer handle is physically disconnected when locked, so you can break that handle off, you are still not getting into these drawers!  Watch Jacko from 4WD24-7 try his best to beak in!

*Weathertight

No bed cover or topper? No problem.  IP rated dust and water tight.  Rain, snow, dirt, and even water crossings are no for Kufu drawers which use an automotive grade rubber drawer face and closed tub construction to keep the elements out, and your gear safe.

*Lighting

How many drawers do you know that feature both internal full length led lighting AND exterior task lights to light up your tailgate or campsite? And it gets better...  there is no hard-wiring to do or remove when you quick-release your drawers.  The lighting is self contained with a lithium battery pack that lasts for moths between charges. *Locking Load Stops

Locking positions every 4 inches throughout the range of motion, incline safe!  When your drawers can hold 300lbs of gear, you don't want the flying open or slamming shut when your vehicle is parked on a hill.  

*T-Slot L-Track

*Triple Slides

Unlike typical 2-slide drawers, Kufu uses a a third horizontal slide under the drawer to stabilize the drawer laterally. Why? Well, Kufu expects you'll actually use your drawers to haul heavy stuff! Kufu drawers can smoothly hold up to 300lbs of gear.  So, when your parked on a side slope, and you open a typical drawer with that much weight, it will BLOW UP the ball bearings in the side slides.  Kufu uses ultra heavy-duty premium slides, and the middle slide keeps it all straight and safely on track. More smart design! 

*Drawer Dividers

Yes, those are standard and included with every drawer, and they are moveable!  Not flimsy plastic or cardboard, these are powder coated aluminum to last a lifetime.

 

Catch-and-Click™ :

A unique catch rear bracket that intercepts the drawer, then slides and locks with a locking pin at the front. The pin access is only available when the drawer is opened, preventing theft. Offering flexibility whether an SUV or Utility, you can quickly and easily remove the system to allow full use of the rear of the vehicle and refit for touring or work needs, all by hand – No Tools required. (Note: the mounting platform can stay in the vehicle or remove in minutes with a simple ratchet and socket set).

LED lighting :

Internal and external LED lighting powered by our own Lithium battery system. Internal lighting is activated the moment you open the drawer and soft fades when closed, offering defused glow it will not blind you and is directed to the contents of the drawer. The external dual high output task lights are controlled by a switch on the drawer front, these provide ample light to light up a camp site for cooking, set up or working on site at night.

As a modular system the drawers offer 6 lengths and 3 height options. With 180mm, 280mm and 460mm high options, the 460mm offers the largest volume on the market and lengths from 750mm to 1700mm – covering more vehicles and able to custom fit to trailers, boats and caravans, the possibilities are endless.

The only drawer system that is truly sealed and can withstand external use. The design features gaskets, seals and venting, all moving components are kept sealed from dust and moisture when closed, which prevents premature wear and failure, can be left outside in our harsh conditions. The system is designed to allow washing with water and soap (hose pressure) to keep clean externally. High pressure blasting the top is fine, however, not recommended for drawer front as this can penetrate gasket seals around the LED task lights and handle.

How does the system work, and how do you install it?

Kufu Vehicle Platform - Catch and Click Base

The Kufu Drawer System utilizes a unique, modular and adaptable base system that allows for easy installation of the system into a wide variety of vehicles from SUV's, to truck beds, to trailers or anywhere your imagination can use them! 

The  the drawer units to simply click into the platform using the patented catch and click mechanism on top of the assembled mounting platform.

Now just drop your drawers into place, and CLICK... they are locked in ready for adventure.

This system allows for fast and easy removal of the drawers, mix and matching of drawer sizes (a shallow, and a medium height drawer equal the height of the large drawer height for modular stacking).   

All drawers are the same width (280mm or about 20 inches). There are three available heights, and a variety of lengths that will be available over time. 

 

In a truck bed, the drawers are weatherproof and dust tight. No need for a topper or bed cover!

CRASH TESTED! 

How do you know that Kufu Drawer Systems are simply the strongest and safest on the market?  Because in Australia after-market products have to pass actual crash test standards. That means, the drawer system is tested, carrying 330 lbs inside the drawers.  Lesser plywood or light duty systems would pose a serious safety concern in an actual real life car accident.  Have a look:

LOAD RATED:

Not only do the drawers carry a lot of weight safely inside them, you can use your Kufu Drawer System as a mounting base for a huge variety of other gear, or simply a flat base to stock loads on top of.  Need to have a pallet of materials fork lifted onto the top of your drawers inside you truck bed? From Kufu HQ in Australia: Introducing to the world…

The KUFU Drawer System has been in the design process since 2019. The concept of a quick release (Catch-and-Click™) system* that allowed drawers to be fitted and removed in seconds without tools was a major talking point, whether discussing vehicle builds or sitting around camp fires, so that became our focus.

After engaging Design and Industry a leader in their field of design for manufacture, we started out with the brief and then brainstormed many idea’s and designs until we settled on a unique and comprehensive compression moulded design that allowed flexibility in the tool for 6 lengths and 3 heights. Such a beast of a tool, we had to go offshore to have the tool built, trialled and parts produced, while the assembling and many other components are made in Geelong Australia. The design now provides a platform that would find interest from Defence, medical and large fleets due to the strength / weight ratio and fast fit capabilities.

Along with a quick release feature other considerations were light weight, internal and external lighting, sealed design for external use and all weather conditions, incremental locking points for drawer when opening to stop fully extending on inclines or running away on declines, anti-slip surface, 1 tonne load rating evenly distributed across drawer top and 150kg inside each drawer, smooth operation and full extension of drawer when open, modular to allow custom layout for stacking and different height configurations, built in retaining tracks for sliding eye bolts to secure loads and the optional false floor on the 280 and 460 drawers to allow water storage at low centre of gravity in a bladder or to hide valuable items, lockable and visually impressing to integrate with the current feel of the new vehicles.
